It was well worth the effort :-) and the long hours over the time I had quoted for.
I took the painting to it's new owner, mounted to the right size and with magnets on the back to adhere it to the fireplace. I kept it hidden as I entered, wanting the slightly revised composition to be a surprise until it was installed.
Happy customer was so excited when she saw it that she gave me a hug and then called her husband home from work so he could see it while I was still there.
She had waited seven years for the right thing to cover the blank black panel.
It's not easy being an artist who does commissions, and you do get set-backs. But when things go well...
I really do like my job!
Today I am grateful for happy customers.
