working on the wall

I've had to make a few corrections along the way... when you alter the composition "on the job" it's a good idea to go back and note it on the original working drawings too! I had to alter the angle of the pergola and remove its shadow on the building that I had faithfully copied from my original drawing. Somehow I had overlooked that the change in structure meant a change in shadows too! How basic, how avoidable! Thankfully I noticed immediately I stepped back to look at it and hastily reworked the wall. Just imagine doing that in buon fresco and having to chip away all the intonico again!

Today I am grateful for fresh air and sunshine.

This is a beautiful thing for a person to have in their house. I'll take seven, thanks. Let me just make some holes in the wall.

I seem to remember painting solar systems, a large train and some Muppet characters on bedroom walls many moons ago. Not to mention helping out with tree frogs and monkeys - and that was not so long ago!

Amazing!! I'm really impressed. This is nothing like the drawing I saw before. Diner will never be the same for them. Only fish from now on.

hahaha Jackerd, you're just impressed that I tidied up the paint pots for the last photo!

Really the sketch was like this, but without the lemon tree. But in a few pencil lines I don't really show what is inside my head... my clients have to trust me!
