A morning jaunt found us back in the church at Colle San Magno.
This church has beautifully bright images and a spacious feeling. It is where the concert was on the Thursday evening.
Saturday evening was a festival in Castello, not very far from home. It fairly buzzed along. We went up in the first bus and avoided the queues for food.
The music was catchy, and no doubt there were more dancers later in the evening. There were two music groups and several wandering minstrels in the historic centre of the village and weaving through the crowds. The traditional food was also pretty good, spicy bruschetta and pasta fagioli, but I really don't enjoy eating from disposable plastic plates.
Every little street was crowded... and still the shuttles brought up more people.
Lovely lighting at La Locanda:
This couple didn't want to be lost... they were "joined at the head" by tall, colourful balloons.
When we were safely back down in the town and indulging at the gelato shop the shuttle buses brought the grey brigade home and squeezed more young folk into the vehicles to go back up. I was very glad to be safely on my way home, out of the squeeze of humanity on a hot summer's night!
Today I am grateful for a lively community.
