not a still life

How many times have I waited, or arrived, at the Cassino railway station? Only today did this register with me. Beautiful, tranquil; out of place or where it is needed?


Why did it register with me today, when I have walked past it so many times before? Where was my head those other times?

No, it is the other side of the station building, the Rome end. The Memorial garden is the Naples end.

I guess when I am pacing up and down there I am usually looking towards Rome!

I think (now, but not when I wrote the post) that I have a very vague memory of it from another time, but certainly not filled with fishies...
